Meet Fr. Frank Kyazze

Young seminarian spononsorship
Frank Kyazze first noticed a call towards the priesthood as a young boy during the visit of Pope St. John Paul II to Uganda in 1993.

Fr. Frank tells us that, “With the assistance of my mum I learned more about God and my desire for the priesthood grew stronger.”

Sadly, his mother passed away the following year, but her encouragement had not been in vain: “She had sown the seed, which was watered later by my relatives and formators in minor seminary.”

The seed of vocation bore great fruit when Fr. Frank’s seminary education was fully sponsored through CARITAS.

“The CARITAS Sponsorship Program paid for my seminary tuition fees and all other seminary and personal needs. I’m very grateful to my lovely and very caring sponsor, Mr. Chris Hoar. My bond with him has grown very strong and he is a father to me.”

Fr. Frank was ordained a priest on July 29
th, 2017 and is the first graduate of the Sponsor a Seminarian program.

Currently, Fr. Frank is serving as the Dean of Studies at St. Joseph’s Minor Seminary in the Lugazi Diocese, Uganda.

Fr. Frank continues to support CARITAS For Children by writing a weekly Gospel reflection for everyone in our Caritas Family. He also has created a Caritas Farm during the COVID Lockdown to feed poor children in his diocese.

We are very proud of Fr. Frank’s service to the Church and to the people of his diocese. We pray that all our other sponsored seminarians will be as fruitful in their Priestly ministry and vocation.
