Br. Lawrance Lucus Oyuki is a 22-year-old Ugandan from Peipei Village, Kisoko Sub- County in Tororo District. He was born into a devout Catholic family, and is the firstborn among five children of Mr. Owori Fred and Mrs. Achieng Margaret. From an early age, Br. Oyuki felt a strong calling to the priesthood, inspired by the prayerful life, humility, and dedication of Catholic priests. His devotion grew through active participation in Church life, serving as an altar boy, joining the choir, and teaching catechism during school holidays. Deeply moved by the life of St. Padre Pio, he developed a strong desire to follow in his footsteps as a Franciscan missionary priest through the Sons of St. Pius of Pietrelcina.

Having completed his Uganda Certificate of Education and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education, Br. Oyuki has been accepted to pursue a three-year degree in Philosophy at Tangaza University in Nairobi, Kenya, starting in August 2025. This education is a key requirement for his priestly formation, and he is determined to grow both spiritually and intellectually through this program. His deep desire is to serve the Church and society—especially the poor, the sick, street families, and marginalized youth—by living a life of chastity, obedience, poverty, and prayer, in the true Franciscan spirit.

However, Br. Oyuki and his religious community currently face financial hardship to cover cost of his tuition and  accommodation costs for the full three years period.
