Augustine Kasagga is a 21-year-old young religious from Masaka-Central Uganda, born into a devout Catholic family to Joseph Kalema and Rosemary Nakyejwe. He last born child in the family among the five children. From a tender age, Augustine showed a deep love for the Church. Inspired by the life and example of St. Augustine, he felt called to become a priest. His early involvement in Church activities began in primary school as an altar server and continued_joined went to Bukalasa minor seminary where he joined choir, played piano during Mass, and led catechism classes.
Augustine has now been admitted at Uganda Martyrs’ National Seminary Aloklum-Gulu. This program is a crucial part of his priestly formation. Despite his commitment, he faces financial constraints. The family head is currently indisposed of work and cannot earn any income, he was once a taxi driver, and the family is now relying on the mother’s little income she earn from tailoring work.
