Why This Vehicle Is Essential

Our mission at CARITAS For Children is to serve vulnerable children and families through compassionate, consistent support—and much of that work takes place in Uganda’s most remote, hard-to-reach regions.

To reach children in rural villages, our team often travels for hours across unpaved, muddy, or flood-prone roads—conditions that our current vehicle, a 2008 Subaru Forester, simply cannot handle.

The Current Problem

The Subaru Forester lacks the ground clearance and durability required for field visits in remote terrain. Our Uganda Director, Alon Wangi, reports frequent delays and added expenses due to hiring suitable vehicles or traveling by foot when roads become impassable.

The Best Solution 

A Toyota Hilux (Off-Road Modified) is a rugged, all-terrain vehicle which is purpose-built for Uganda's rural challenges. With high ground clearance, off-road suspension, and diesel-powered reliability, the Toyota Hilux will:

• Ensure safe and consistent access to our sponsored communities

• Reduce long-term transportation and rental costs
  

• Increase safety and speed during outreach

• Support more efficient aid delivery and follow-up visits
