Support to Mission and Development

Position Summary:

CARITAS For Children is a Catholic Lay Apostolate that primarily develops relationships between people living in poverty and faithful Catholics: specifically, those who desire to live out the Gospel message by loving thy neighbor and assisting in the corporal and spiritual works of mercy. This position will assist in building these global relationships by providing support in the areas of Mission and Development.

This person will assist in Mission by creating and revising faith-related content and communications about our ministry. He or she will also support CARITAS’ Development and Fundraising through writing, designing content, sending fundraising messages (especially in yearly campaigns), thanking donors, maintaining and utilizing donor and foundation search databases, and assisting with compiling grant applications.

A thorough understanding of our Catholic identity and a love for our ministry will make it possible to effectively communicate the message and mission of Caritas (God’s love). An ideal candidate will have very strong writing skills, a well-formed understanding of Catholicism, with some experience in Development (nonprofit work preferred). Additionally, an ideal candidate should be familiar with or be willing to learn about HubSpot, Inbound Marketing, Blog writing, the Spirituality of Fundraising, iWave, Foundation Search, and Grant Writing Applications.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Create or help to edit communications (blogs, newsletter articles, profile stories, website content, emails, marketing materials, fundraising campaigns, and annual report)

• Help to design newsletter, annual report, and other marketing materials in Canva

• Use iWave and Foundation Search programs for research (training will be provided)

• Manage and maintain an accurate database in HubSpot

• Send thank you emails and cards for large donations

Qualifications/Experience: 

• College Education Preferred (No required Major)

• Experience or familiarity with Church ministry, Missionary or volunteer work

• Work experience in Development (Nonprofit work preferred)

• Skillful in articulation, communication, writing

• Team-oriented, persistent, Christ-centered

• A desire to make a difference through ministry
