My journey to the priesthood was initially inspired by my upbringing at home, especially by my father’s prayer life. He was a catechist and used to gather us in the family to pray before eating and sleeping. As I got older, I grew to admire the missionary priests who were in charge of my parish called Hima, in particular Fr. Henry Valette. These inspirations at home and at my parish brought about a desire in me to live in a community with other like-minded men pursuing the faith, as priests who in community life are committed to praying for people.
I made an attempt to join a seminary but I was not able to succeed on my own. Since I thought my vocation to the priesthood had failed, I then decided to go to college and I was interested in accounting. But the Lord did not give up on me. Around that time I was introduced to the Capuchins who gave me a lot of encouragement in my dream of becoming a priest, so in 2015 I joined their Order as a novice.
