Caritas; opening a channel of love

Lunch break at a typical Catholic Demonstration school in Central Uganda can best be described as marginally controlled chaos.

The unbridled joy of the students is a side benefit of the gift of education, a gift denied to far too many Ugandan children, a gift from Caritas sponsors for a significant percentage of the students here.

This particular day school educates boys and girls, with a mission statement of "aid the development of pupils mentally, physically, spiritually, and emotionally, most especially the girl child".

The one on one, sacred, and life-giving gift of Caritas sponsorship for these beautiful and exuberant children can be the difference between lifetime success or a lifetime of hauling water, tending meager crops, and bearing children at an all-too-early age.
