Ryan's family faces considerable financial strain following the passing of his father, leaving his single mother to navigate their livelihood as a peasant farmer. Despite her tireless efforts, the meager income generated from farming proves insufficient to cover their household expenses and Ryan's school fees. This financial instability casts a shadow over Ryan's educational journey, hindering his ability to fully engage in his studies.

Despite the challenges, Ryan's mother strives to provide for her son's needs to the best of her abilities. However, the unpredictable nature of peasant farming exacerbates their financial insecurity, making it increasingly difficult to afford basic necessities, let alone invest in Ryan's education. The burden of single-handedly managing their household weighs heavily on Ryan's mother, amplifying the urgency of finding sustainable support for their family.

Ryan's steadfast commitment to his studies reflects his resilience and determination to overcome adversity. With the opportunity for financial assistance, Ryan envisions a brighter future where he can focus wholeheartedly on his academic pursuits and nurture his dream of becoming a pilot. By alleviating the financial strain on his family, Ryan's potential can be unlocked, offering him the chance to soar towards his aspirations and realize his full potential in shaping his future career path.

About my community:
St. Francis of Assisi (Lugazi)
In the Lugazi Diocese, CARITAS finds some of the poorest families in all of Uganda. Because of St. Francis of Assisi's great love for the poor, he is the patron of this community. We pray for his intercession so that more children in this diocese have a chance to overcome the poverty that they have always known.
About my country:
Uganda
Known as the "Pearl of Africa," Uganda is located on the shores of Lake Victoria in the Great Lakes region of East Africa. Since emerging from decades of civil war and the devastation of AIDs, estimates indicate that 48% of Uganda's population is below the age of 15. Young children suffer disproportionately in the struggle to access healthcare, education, and clean water.
