Queen Esther Grace stays with her mother and other eight siblings. Their father abandoned the home and decided to marry another woman whom they have stayed together for about three years. He completely forgot about his matrimony wife and his children.

The mother struggles to make sure that her children survive by growing some crops and keeping some domestic animals which she sells and the income caters for the provision of the home essentials and the little money for the school fees of her children. Life hasn’t been easy for the abandoned family as sometimes they have to away with some meals of the day. The elder children get involved in selling some firewood and water so as to buy themselves clothes and shoes.

Queen Esther Grace goes to school as any child of school going age but the hardship comes in meeting the school requirements. She worries about her stay in school yet she needs to concentrate on her studies. This is a hinderance to academic performance. She is ready to study hard to become a teacher if assistance is rendered to her.
