Peace has been raised by her mother since the tragic loss of her father, who drowned in Lake Victoria while fishing to provide for his family. Despite warnings of the lake’s dangerous waves that morning, he set out in a small canoe. His body was recovered four days later after an extensive search.

Now, Peace’s mother carries the responsibility of caring for eight children on her own. She does her best to provide by raising pigs, chickens, and goats, as well as tending a small banana plantation, but her income is too limited to meet all of the family’s needs.

Peace is a determined girl who works hard to earn good marks in school. However, her progress is often disrupted when she is sent home for unpaid school fees. Sponsorship will provide Peace the opportunity to complete her education and pursue her dreams.
