Patricia Nakato Muyanja
Patricia stays with her both parents who struggle to earn a living through doing odd jobs like selling charcoal, firewood and some food crops. The father is a teacher in one of the mushrooming schools in Nkokonjeru and his remuneration is so low that it cannot make ends meet. The family experiences difficulty in accessing basic needs so as to live a descent life.
Patricia has been attending classes but on irregular basis because of the failure of the father to provide the school requirements.
Patricia needs assistance through CARITAS for children so as to realize her dream of becoming a business woman.
About my community:
St. Francis of Assisi (Lugazi)
In the Lugazi Diocese, CARITAS finds some of the poorest families in all of Uganda. Because of St. Francis of Assisi's great love for the poor, he is the patron of this community. We pray for his intercession so that more children in this diocese have a chance to overcome the poverty that they have always known.
About my country:
Uganda
Known as the "Pearl of Africa," Uganda is located on the shores of Lake Victoria in the Great Lakes region of East Africa. Since emerging from decades of civil war and the devastation of AIDs, estimates indicate that 48% of Uganda's population is below the age of 15. Young children suffer disproportionately in the struggle to access healthcare, education, and clean water.
