Justine's father is single-handedly caring for her after the tragic passing of her mother in a boating accident on Lake Victoria. The family faces financial difficulties, and her father, engaged in odd jobs like collecting and selling firewood, struggles to provide even the basic household necessities. Unfortunately, this leaves nothing for Justine's school tuition.

Justine is a diligent student attending a local school, and her aspirations include becoming a teacher. Assistance for her education would greatly contribute to the stability of the family and help Justine pursue her dream.

St. Francis of Assisi (Lugazi)

In the Lugazi Diocese, CARITAS finds some of the poorest families in all of Uganda. Because of St. Francis of Assisi's great love for the poor, he is the patron of this community. We pray for his intercession so that more children in this diocese have a chance to overcome the poverty that they have always known.

Since emerging from decades of civil war and the devastation of AIDs, estimates indicate that 48% of Uganda's population is below the age of 15. Young children suffer disproportionately in the struggle to access healthcare, education, and clean water.
