John Paul is one of 8 children whose father passed away from an unknown disease. Their family was never financially stable, and they couldn't afford to send him to the hospital to be treated for his illness. Ever since his passing, their mother has worked tirelessly to provide for her family, collecting firewood and selling charcoal. She is able to make enough to afford basic needs for their home, but the small income is far from sufficient to pay for the children's tuition.

John Paul and his siblings attend school when they are able, but their attendance is very irregular due to their family's financial instability. John Paul's mother has reached out to CARITAS For Children in the hopes of receiving some assistance for her children.

If able to continue his studies, John Paul hopes to become a doctor one day so that he understands what happened to his father, and he can save lives in his community.
