Jethro Mwase
Jethro's father is chronically ill with Hepatitis B, and he is on medication to treat his condition. However, he is unable to provide for his family due to his illness. The responsibility of supporting the whole family has therefore fallen to Jethro's mother. She is a peasant who farms for a living and cannot afford to send her children to school.
Jethro is a friendly boy who recently lost his sponsor. He will need another one if he is going to have a chance of completing his education. He hopes to become a lawyer when he grows up.

St. Francis of Assisi (Lugazi)
In the Lugazi Diocese, CARITAS finds some of the poorest families in all of Uganda. Because of St. Francis of Assisi's great love for the poor, he is the patron of this community. We pray for his intercession so that more children in this diocese have a chance to overcome the poverty that they have always known.
