Isaiah resides with his father, three brothers, and one sister after the unfortunate loss of his mother. His father works diligently as a cook in a nearby school, a demanding job that occupies much of his day. Despite his efforts, the salary he earns falls short of meeting the essential needs of the family.

The family's greatest challenge lies in the struggle to cover the costs of school fees, particularly for Isaiah and his three siblings who are also attending school. The financial strain has led to inconsistent attendance for these students, often being sent home due to unpaid fees. This interruption in their education hinders their academic progress, as weeks may elapse before their father can secure the necessary funds, even resorting to additional odd jobs to supplement their income.

Despite these hurdles, Isaiah maintains a strong passion for learning. With the right support, he envisions the possibility of fulfilling his aspiration of becoming a doctor. By extending a helping hand, you can contribute to alleviating the financial strain on Isaiah's family and providing him with the opportunity to pursue his dreams and achieve academic success.

About my community:
St. Francis of Assisi (Lugazi)
In the Lugazi Diocese, CARITAS finds some of the poorest families in all of Uganda. Because of St. Francis of Assisi's great love for the poor, he is the patron of this community. We pray for his intercession so that more children in this diocese have a chance to overcome the poverty that they have always known.
About my country:
Uganda
Known as the "Pearl of Africa," Uganda is located on the shores of Lake Victoria in the Great Lakes region of East Africa. Since emerging from decades of civil war and the devastation of AIDs, estimates indicate that 48% of Uganda's population is below the age of 15. Young children suffer disproportionately in the struggle to access healthcare, education, and clean water.
