Ian Ssegawa
After the tragic loss of both parents to an unknown illness, Ian and his four siblings were taken in by their kind-hearted aunt. She and her husband work hard—she farms while he sells fried chicken in the evenings—but with a large household to support, their income barely covers basic needs.
Ian is a bright student attending a nearby primary school, but financial constraints make it difficult for him to attend regularly. With support, Ian can continue his education and work toward a better future.

St. Francis of Assisi (Lugazi)
In the Lugazi Diocese, CARITAS finds some of the poorest families in all of Uganda. Because of St. Francis of Assisi's great love for the poor, he is the patron of this community. We pray for his intercession so that more children in this diocese have a chance to overcome the poverty that they have always known.

Since emerging from decades of civil war and the devastation of AIDs, estimates indicate that 48% of Uganda's population is below the age of 15. Young children suffer disproportionately in the struggle to access healthcare, education, and clean water.
