Francis completed his primary education and was eager to continue to secondary school. However, before he could begin the next stage of his studies, his mother lost her job, leaving the family without the income needed to cover school fees and other essential expenses.

For several years, Francis’s mother has been the sole provider for the family after his father abandoned them. Despite her determination and hard work, the loss of her employment has placed tremendous strain on the household, making it impossible to continue funding Francis’s education.

Francis longs to return to school and continue learning, but without support, that dream feels increasingly out of reach. He is a capable and dedicated student who excels in mathematics and enjoys the challenge of solving problems. Outside the classroom, he loves playing soccer with his classmates and spending time with friends.

Despite the obstacles he faces, Francis remains hopeful about his future. Support from a sponsor would give him the opportunity to resume his education, develop his talents, and pursue the brighter future he dreams of achieving.

About my community:
St. Maria Goretti (Nsukka)
For a long time, the Diocese of Nsukka has suffered from kidnapping and slaughter at the hands of multiple terrorist groups. As CARITAS provides a Catholic education to these suffering young children, we pray for the intercession of St. Maria Goretti to help them be courageous and holy in spite of all their difficulties.
About my country:
Nigeria
On the coast of West Africa, Nigeria is the most populous country on the?continent and is home to more than 500 diverse ethnic groups. The country is split between top and bottom by a religious divide of Christians and Muslims. Its people have suffered much during the Ebola epidemic and at the hands of terrorist groups, both in the past and even into the present.
