Christopher was a lost child who was found on streets and picked by the sisters at St. Philomena Orphanage who later because of lack of space transferred him to the Brothers of St Charles Lwanga who are running a home (St Muggagga Boys's Home) and they enrolled him in a home as they started looking for the family. They found out that Christopher was abandoned near St. Philomena orphanage intentionally and they failed to trace his family.

Christopher has since then been a Children Home boy parented by the Brothers of St Charles Lwanga who were not able to support him in school hence requesting Caritas to help and because he had a children's home as his home, they thought he was good to be in a boarding school and be back in the home during school breaks.

Christopher got a loving sponsor who supported him from the beginning of his schooling until recently (a year ago) when she couldn't continue with him because of her financial difficulties and now Christopher who has moved 12 years in school and close to the finish line is in a great need of sponsorship to finish his studies and become an important citizen.

Christopher is a clever boy whose dream is to become an engineer and he can become if he gets sponsorship.

About my community:
St. Francis of Assisi (Lugazi)
In the Lugazi Diocese, CARITAS finds some of the poorest families in all of Uganda. Because of St. Francis of Assisi's great love for the poor, he is the patron of this community. We pray for his intercession so that more children in this diocese have a chance to overcome the poverty that they have always known.
About my country:
Uganda
Known as the "Pearl of Africa," Uganda is located on the shores of Lake Victoria in the Great Lakes region of East Africa. Since emerging from decades of civil war and the devastation of AIDs, estimates indicate that 48% of Uganda's population is below the age of 15. Young children suffer disproportionately in the struggle to access healthcare, education, and clean water.
