Chikamso PraiseGod Emetu is a cheerful and energetic little boy who is eagerly looking forward to starting school. For months, he has watched his older brother, John Victory, leave for class and has excitedly asked when he will be able to go to school too. His parents promised him that he would begin kindergarten as soon as he was old enough, and Chikamso talks often about how excited he is to learn alongside other children.
However, the family's circumstances changed dramatically when they were forced to leave their farm and relocate in search of safety. After armed attacks by Fulani bandits threatened farming communities in their region, Chikamso's parents made the difficult decision to abandon their home and livelihood to protect their children. In doing so, they lost the crops and income they depended on to provide for their family's needs.
As they work to rebuild their lives in a new environment, meeting everyday expenses has become a struggle. Chikamso's parents are especially concerned that they may not be able to afford the costs associated with starting kindergarten, despite their desire to give him the education they have always hoped for.
Chikamso is a bright, curious child with a love of learning and a great excitement for school. Support from a sponsor would help make it possible for him to begin his education as planned and give his family hope and stability during this challenging season of rebuilding.
