Betty is one of four siblings who currently reside with their grandmother. Their father left the family in pursuit of employment, and the grandmother took on the responsibility of caring for the children. Unfortunately, she lost contact with their father. The grandmother faces challenges in providing for the family's needs, primarily relying on growing crops and keeping a few animals. However, the yield from these activities is just enough for home consumption, with no surplus for selling to generate income.

Betty, her sister, and two brothers are smart children, and their grandmother understands how important it is that they receive an education so that they can be successful in their futures. She has turned to CARITAS For Children for assistance and desperately hopes she can get some help. In her old age, she simply can't work hard enough to provide for all of the family's needs.

Betty is a motivated student, and loves going to school. However, the family's financial situation poses a risk to her education. If appropriate assistance is extended to Betty, it will give her a strong start to achieve her dreams and have a successful future.
