Beckham has lost his sponsors of the past seven years. He will need a new one to get any further in his education.

Beckham’s story, like so many other children, is one of abandonment. His mother left shortly after giving birth to him and they have not heard from her since, and his father was taken by the government for political reasons during the elections - he has not returned

His paternal grandmother works hard to support Beckham and a second grandchild by selling chapatti and pancakes in the village. She tries to make enough money to take care of them both but has been unable to send them to school herself.

Sponsorship is the only way for Beckham to finish his education and make a better life for himself.

About my country:
Uganda
Known as the “Pearl of Africa”, Uganda is located on the shores of Lake Victoria in the Great Lakes region of East Africa. Since emerging from decades of civil war and the devastation of AIDs, estimates indicate that 48% of Uganda’s population is below the age of 15. Young children suffer disproportionately in the struggle to access healthcare, education and clean water.
