Rachael Nanyanzi
Rachael lives with both of her parents, who do their best to earn a living—but despite their efforts, the family still faces extreme poverty. Life has been incredibly difficult, and without support, Rachael’s education is often interrupted due to lack of school fees.
She was blessed with a sponsorship that allowed her to attend a boarding school, where she completed her primary education. Unfortunately, her sponsor was unable to continue supporting her into secondary school.
Rachael is now in urgent need of a new sponsor so she can continue her studies, work toward her dreams, and eventually give back to her family and community. With your support, she can stay in school and build a brighter future.

St. Francis of Assisi (Lugazi)
In the Lugazi Diocese, CARITAS finds some of the poorest families in all of Uganda. Because of St. Francis of Assisi's great love for the poor, he is the patron of this community. We pray for his intercession so that more children in this diocese have a chance to overcome the poverty that they have always known.

Known as the "Pearl of Africa," Uganda is located on the shores of Lake Victoria in the Great Lakes region of East Africa. Since emerging from decades of civil war and the devastation of AIDs, estimates indicate that 48% of Uganda's population is below the age of 15. Young children suffer disproportionately in the struggle to access healthcare, education, and clean water.
