Patricia's early life has been marked by challenges. Her father's anger and rejection when she was born, and his subsequent abandonment of the family, left her 18 year old mother to face the responsibilities of parenthood alone. The burden became even heavier when her mother's second relationship also ended in abandonment when Patricia was just five. Left to fend for themselves, Patricia's mother took on the difficult task of providing for her and her daughter.

With unwavering determination, Patricia's mother turned to peasant work, toiling in other people's gardens to secure the meager resources needed to put food on the table. However, the financial strain is undeniable, and Patricia's mother finds herself struggling to meet their basic needs.

Despite the hardships, Patricia's spirit remains unbroken. She is a shining example of resilience, displaying sharp intellect and boundless energy. Patricia's vibrant personality has earned her the admiration of those around her. She effortlessly connects with others, making friends with her kindness and friendly demeanor.

In the midst of adversity, Patricia holds onto her dream of attending school. Her longing for education is a testament to her determination to rise above her circumstances. With the opportunity to learn, Patricia envisions a bright future with hope and opportunity.

About my country:
Uganda
Known as the "Pearl of Africa," Uganda is located on the shores of Lake Victoria in the Great Lakes region of East Africa. Since emerging from decades of civil war and the devastation of AIDs, estimates indicate that 48% of Uganda's population is below the age of 15. Young children suffer disproportionately in the struggle to access healthcare, education, and clean water.
