Lucia (Ruth) recently lost the sponsor who had supported her for many years, and she is now in urgent need of new sponsorship to complete her education. Bright, motivated, and full of potential, Ruth is the kind of student who will go on to accomplish great things—if only given the chance.

Ruth was taken in by a group of compassionate nuns after they noticed her wandering between gardens in ragged clothes. Her parents, both peasant laborers, used to work in those gardens, and young Ruth would follow them from place to place. The sisters, moved by her situation, welcomed her into their convent to give her care and stability.

Thanks to a boarding school sponsorship, Ruth began to thrive academically. She has remained at the top of her class and continues to impress her teachers with her intelligence and determination. But now, without a sponsor, the sisters can no longer afford to support her education.
