Isdol Yiga
Isdol and his brother have faced challenges after their father abandoned their family, and their mother, who worked hard to keep them in school, passed away last year. The boys are now under the care of their elderly grandmother, a retired teacher who is experiencing health issues.
Isdol is a good student who shows motivation to succeed. He dreams of a veterinary doctor if he is able to complete his schooling.
Given the family's circumstances, additional support could greatly assist Isdol in achieving his dreams and overcoming the financial and educational obstacles they are facing.

St. Francis of Assisi (Lugazi)
In the Lugazi Diocese, CARITAS finds some of the poorest families in all of Uganda. Because of St. Francis of Assisi's great love for the poor, he is the patron of this community. We pray for his intercession so that more children in this diocese have a chance to overcome the poverty that they have always known.

Since emerging from decades of civil war and the devastation of AIDs, estimates indicate that 48% of Uganda's population is below the age of 15. Young children suffer disproportionately in the struggle to access healthcare, education, and clean water.
