Immaculate lives with her mother after her father left the home and his whereabouts became unknown. Since then, her mother has taken full responsibility for raising her daughter on her own.

Immaculate’s mother works very hard to provide for the family. She is employed as a cleaner at a school in the outskirts of one of Uganda’s cities, and she also sells simple snacks at the same school to supplement her income. Despite her efforts, it remains challenging to meet all the household needs and keep Immaculate in school consistently.

During his time at home, Immaculate’s father did not fulfill his responsibilities and provided little to no support for the family. At one point, he even denied being her biological father, leaving the mother to care for Immaculate entirely on her own.

Immaculate is a bright and promising student who actively participates in school activities. She enjoys singing and dancing, and she is enthusiastic about learning.

Support from a sponsor would make a meaningful difference in helping Immaculate remain in school and continue developing her talents and education.

About my community:
St. Francis of Assisi (Lugazi)
In the Lugazi Diocese, CARITAS finds some of the poorest families in all of Uganda. Because of St. Francis of Assisi's great love for the poor, he is the patron of this community. We pray for his intercession so that more children in this diocese have a chance to overcome the poverty that they have always known.
About my country:
Uganda
Known as the "Pearl of Africa," Uganda is located on the shores of Lake Victoria in the Great Lakes region of East Africa. Since emerging from decades of civil war and the devastation of AIDs, estimates indicate that 48% of Uganda's population is below the age of 15. Young children suffer disproportionately in the struggle to access healthcare, education, and clean water.
