In a household of four children, one boy and three girls face significant challenges under their grandmother's care after their parents' separation. Their mother left following a divorce, and their father, a casual laborer, remains distant and uninvolved, consumed by his work. The children, neglected and struggling, lacked proper meals and care until their grandmother stepped in to provide for them.

Despite her best efforts, the grandmother's advanced age limits her ability to meet all the needs of her grandchildren, particularly the financial demands. While she provides emotional support and basic care, the financial strain of providing for four growing children is overwhelming, and some needs, especially educational expenses, are beyond her reach.

Among the children, Angella shows great promise in her studies. She is a bright and motivated student with aspirations of becoming a fashion designer. However, without adequate support, her educational journey and future career are at risk. Any assistance offered could be transformative, enabling her to pursue her dreams and secure a better future.

About my community:
St. Francis of Assisi (Lugazi)
In the Lugazi Diocese, CARITAS finds some of the poorest families in all of Uganda. Because of St. Francis of Assisi's great love for the poor, he is the patron of this community. We pray for his intercession so that more children in this diocese have a chance to overcome the poverty that they have always known.
About my country:
Uganda
Known as the "Pearl of Africa," Uganda is located on the shores of Lake Victoria in the Great Lakes region of East Africa. Since emerging from decades of civil war and the devastation of AIDs, estimates indicate that 48% of Uganda's population is below the age of 15. Young children suffer disproportionately in the struggle to access healthcare, education, and clean water.
