Child Sponsorship Programs Celebrate Feast of Corpus Christi

Child Sponsorship Programs Celebrate Feast of Corpus Christi

On Sunday, June 7th, Teddy and I attended Mass at the Stella Maris campus church for the celebration of the Feast of Corpus Christi [The Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ].

The Mass included a procession to various 'stations' around the Stella Maris campus. There was a station at the college, the primary school, the teachers' quarters, the convent, and so forth. At each station, the procession would stop, the priest would say a few words, the choir would sing, and everyone would kneel to pray before moving on to the next location.

The procession was led by about a dozen younger girls who wore white dresses and scattered flower petals and leaves at each station. They were followed by the priest who carried the Eucharist in a monstrance. The choir followed with the Stella Maris primary and secondary schools behind. Girls who attend Stella Maris through the CARITAS Child Sponsorship Programs were in attendance.

Decorative sand images were interspersed along the procession route.
