FAMILY BACKGROUND AND EARLY HISTORY

I was born on July 2, 1988 to Francis Bwambale and Masika Erivania, in the Kasese Diocese, in Uganda. I am the second born out of nine children, with two sisters and six brothers. My father grew up as an orphan and consequently could not afford to study much. He simply completed primary school and started serving as a catechist at age eighteen.

Being very Catholic, my father told us many stories about priests and sisters, and it motivated me to join the seminary. After passing primary seven, I was admitted to the minor seminary at the age of fourteen. Unfortunately, I only studied for one term because my family could not afford to pay the tuition.

For the following year, I worked on a farm with my parents in order to raise enough money to join a cheaper, secular school that was a twelve-kilometer walk from our home. Every year, it was difficult to raise the money for the scholastic materials I needed, but the determination to study kept pushing me.

JOURNEY TOWARDS THE PRIESTHOOD

Even though I had pulled out of the seminary, the desire to rejoin kept burning in my heart. One day after witnessing an ordination of a Capuchin priest, I became inspired to join the Capuchins. I was moved by their religious habits (religious robe) and their general appearance and behavior. I wrote to them, and they admitted me to their formation house.

As I write now, I have gone through the process of initial formation, my philosophical studies, and now am aspiring to join theology classes in 2021. I thank God for the formation I have received so far, however, I know I still have several years of studies to complete before becoming a priest.

ASKING FOR HELP

My order struggles a lot to make ends meet for my formation, accommodation, and studies. I am praying very hard for God to continue providing for my formation so that I may serve Him well as a Capuchin brother and priest. I prayerfully ask for any support that you can afford to assist me in my formation and my studies. Thank you and may God bless you in all your endeavors.
