Paul and his brother live with their mother and sickly grandmother. After the separation of his parents, his father abandoned them and since his mother had no job, she was unable to support herself and the boys on her own. She took them to live with their other grandparents, but sadly they passed away and she once again had to find a way to care for her children. She still has no real job, since she was not trained in any profession, but she digs in people’s gardens to earn enough for them to eat, and in addition she cares for her own mother who is sick. Since it’s very difficult for her to afford tuition fees for her sons to go to school, they will need sponsorship if they are going to get an education.

Paul is a caring boy who wants to become a priest when he grows up so that he can share God’s Word and Love with the people in his community.

About my community:
Mary Queen of Families (Kasana-Luweero)
The Kasana-Luweero diocese suffered a massacre during the 1981-1986 civil war which left many children orphaned. As the effects of this tragedy are still felt today, we pray to Mary, Queen of Families to help build healthy families and restore hope in this diocese.
About my country:
Uganda
Known as the "Pearl of Africa," Uganda is located on the shores of Lake Victoria in the Great Lakes region of East Africa. Since emerging from decades of civil war and the devastation of AIDs, estimates indicate that 48% of Uganda's population is below the age of 15. Young children suffer disproportionately in the struggle to access healthcare, education, and clean water.
