Oliva lives with her father, her twin sister Justine, and her other two siblings after their mother abandoned them. She left the family because her husband was poor and unemployed, and now he struggles alone to provide for his children by digging in people’s gardens to get food and other basic necessities.
Oliva wants to go into business if she gets the chance to finish her education, but her father is unable to send her to school. The only way she will do so is through sponsorship.

St. Francis of Assisi (Lugazi)
In the Lugazi Diocese, CARITAS finds some of the poorest families in all of Uganda. Because of St. Francis of Assisi's great love for the poor, he is the patron of this community. We pray for his intercession so that more children in this diocese have a chance to overcome the poverty that they have always known.
