Moses lives with his single mother who is a babies’ caretaker at St. Padre Pio Nursery school. His father left the family when Moses was just 8 months old and disappeared. The two parents never lived together but at least his father used to send some support to them until they stopped hearing from or communicating with him. That was in August 2009.
The family was living in Gulu (northern region) and this part of Uganda was disturbed by internal wars, s, the mother thinks that maybe the father was taken by rebels or was killed. Eventually they escaped the region due to the conflicts there and came to the central part of Uganda.
Moses’ mother had no job and no relatives in their new home to support them, but she was helped by the Capuchin Brothers who gave her the job of taking care of little children. While she is good at this job, she does not make much money, just enough to feed her son and pay the rent. She wishes to send Moses to school, and he needs a sponsorship in order to do this. Moses loves to play soccer, and hopes one day to become an electrical engineer.
