Gloria’s family situation is very sad. Her parents were unmarried students, and her father (who was just a boy then) dropped out of school and ran away, leaving her mother pregnant and alone. Her mother’s parents refused to help her and chased her away from their home! Thankfully she received shelter from Gloria’s father’s parents.

When Gloria was about three years old, her mother ran away as well – leaving her in the care of her grandmother. Gloria’s grandmother is a peasant and can only provide for her personal needs, but she hopes for her to go to school and receive an education.

If she is sponsored, Gloria can receive the support she needs so that hopefully she does not fall into the desperate situation her parents were in! She is a kind and hardworking little girl who dreams of becoming a nurse when she grows up.
