Chinonso is the youngest child of a family of seven. His parents work random odd jobs that they can find to support the family, particularly manual labor. Because of his parents’ poverty, they can no longer afford to pay for Chinonso’s school fees and they have had to withdraw him from school.
Chinonso is a good student who enjoys studying English, and very much wants to return to school if he can get a sponsorship – this is the only chance he has of getting an education and making a better life for himself.

For a long time, the Diocese of Nsukka has suffered from kidnapping and slaughter at the hands of multiple terrorist groups. As CARITAS provides a Catholic education to these suffering young children, we pray for the intercession of St. Maria Goretti to help them be courageous and holy in spite of all their difficulties.

Its people have suffered much during the Ebola epidemic and at the hands of terrorist groups, both in the past and even into the present.
