Tabitha is the only girl out of her four siblings. Her parents took a long time to have children after they got married. They later had four children at a very close range making it too hard to provide for them.
Tabitha’s father is the only breadwinner of the family who works as a self-employed community plumber and earns very little from short-term plumbing work contracts. This year, Tabitha’s older brother will be completing his 9th grade therefore their father uses all his earnings towards paying for his school fees.
Tabitha and her brother Moses are very close in age and Tabitha loves playing with her brother once he is done with his homework. Despite the hardship, Tabitha is always a happy girl. She knows that she is a pretty girl. She really would love to go to school but her father just cannot afford the school fees.
