Favorite Subject: Math
Favorite Pastime: Dancing

Lindah has grown up in a large family of five children. They are fortunate to live with both her mother and her father, but sadly her father is chronically ill and bedridden. Before his illness became serious, he was a street vendor and the main breadwinner for their family.

Her mother, who used to be mainly a homemaker, now must work very hard to feed and support their family. In addition to providing for her five children, she is also the caretaker of her sick husband. When she can, she works as a gardner to provide food for the family, but cannot afford to send her children to school.

Lindah has a wide range of interests. Her favorite pastime is dancing, and her favorite subject in school is math. If she is able to finish her education, she hopes to become a nurse and take care of others like her family is caring for her father. Because of her family’s peasant status, the only way all her needs will be met is if she is able to go to boarding school.

To help Lindah go to Stella Maris boarding school, she will need $90/month from one sponsor, or $45/month from two sponsors.

About my country:
Uganda
Known as the “Pearl of Africa”, Uganda is located on the shores of Lake Victoria in the Great Lakes region of East Africa. Since emerging from decades of civil war and the devastation of AIDs, estimates indicate that 48% of Uganda’s population is below the age of 15. Young children suffer disproportionately in the struggle to access healthcare, education, and clean water.
