Justine is an orphan living with her stepmother who cannot fully support her at school. Her parents had separated and her father had married again, leaving his first wife to care for Justine alone. Eventually her mother abandoned her and left her at her father’s place. Unfortunately, her father died recently leaving her with a stepmom who is also unemployed.

This family was renting a place to live and when the father died, the stepmother couldn’t pay the rent and was chased out of the house by the landlord. They are now sheltered by an old lady who took pity on them and is taking care of them as much as she can. This old lady is also a peasant who currently goes to the garden with Justine’s stepmother and the older siblings to work for food. Neither Justine nor the stepmother knows anything about the whereabouts of her biological mother.

Justine loves to learn about science and wants to become a doctor when she grows up. Since her stepmother cannot send her to school, she badly needs sponsorship if she is to receive an education.
