Felix and his family face numerous challenges as his parents earn a living through unpredictable odd jobs, such as being compound cleaners and working in agricultural settings. These jobs, while providing income, are unreliable and often leave the family without work, especially during times when job opportunities are scarce. Their residence, a small two-roomed house with an old iron-sheet roof, becomes particularly challenging during the rainy season, causing leaks and posing a threat to their belongings.

Due to the financial instability of the family, providing for the basic needs of their children, including consistent school attendance, becomes a significant struggle. The inconsistency in attendance affects the children's ability to focus on their studies and hinders their educational progress. Felix, with his dream of becoming a driver, recognizes the importance of education in achieving his aspirations.

In their quest for support, Felix's parents have turned to CARITAS For Children, hoping to receive assistance with their children's school fees. This support would not only alleviate the financial burden on the family but also pave the way for Felix and his siblings to access a more stable education, bringing them one step closer to realizing their dreams.

About my community:
St. Francis of Assisi (Lugazi)
In the Lugazi Diocese, CARITAS finds some of the poorest families in all of Uganda. Because of St. Francis of Assisi's great love for the poor, he is the patron of this community. We pray for his intercession so that more children in this diocese have a chance to overcome the poverty that they have always known.
About my country:
Uganda
Known as the "Pearl of Africa," Uganda is located on the shores of Lake Victoria in the Great Lakes region of East Africa. Since emerging from decades of civil war and the devastation of AIDs, estimates indicate that 48% of Uganda's population is below the age of 15. Young children suffer disproportionately in the struggle to access healthcare, education, and clean water.
