Pamela's academic journey has been marred by the burden of poverty that plagues her family. Her father, a peasant farmer, struggles to make ends meet and provide for her basic needs, as he no longer has a stable source of income. The once productive piece of land that sustained the family has been divided among clan members, leaving Pamela's father with a meager share that is insufficient for any commercial agricultural ventures. He can only grow simple crops like green vegetables for home consumption.

Amidst the financial hardship, Pamela dreams of becoming a pilot. However, without the necessary support and assistance, her aspirations may remain unattainable. The lack of resources and funds for education hinders her progress, putting her dreams at risk of being deferred.

For Pamela to have a chance at realizing her dream, she urgently requires support to continue her studies. By providing financial assistance and resources, Pamela can stay in school, gain knowledge, and work towards her goal of becoming a pilot. This assistance will not only transform Pamela's life but also have a positive impact on her family and community, as she fulfills her potential and becomes an inspiration to others.

About my community:
St. Francis of Assisi (Lugazi)
In the Lugazi Diocese, CARITAS finds some of the poorest families in all of Uganda. Because of St. Francis of Assisi's great love for the poor, he is the patron of this community. We pray for his intercession so that more children in this diocese have a chance to overcome the poverty that they have always known.
About my country:
Uganda
Known as the "Pearl of Africa," Uganda is located on the shores of Lake Victoria in the Great Lakes region of East Africa. Since emerging from decades of civil war and the devastation of AIDs, estimates indicate that 48% of Uganda's population is below the age of 15. Young children suffer disproportionately in the struggle to access healthcare, education, and clean water.
